February Mathematics Teacher Spotlight!

The USBE mathematics team has selected Jason Wild for the February Mathematics Teacher Spotlight!
Mr. Wild earned this recognition for his intentional use of questioning to elicit student thinking and build deep understanding. He challenges students to expand their thought processes by applying mathematical concepts in real-world contexts. He does an incredible job fostering student-to-student discourse. Through his strategic questioning, he provides feedback that guides students to understand their mistakes while maintaining high expectations for them to explain their problem-solving processes. Furthermore, his students' RISE growth scores are outstanding; not only does he maintain high proficiency levels, but he also consistently achieves high growth rates for students who are already performing at the top of their peer group.
